no the play in the box is uneven, slack & clonking in some spots and fine in others if i tighten it wont i end up with a tight spot where the rack is less worn?

not when the shaking started, and braking didnt make it worse, dont think it will be these as they were all replaced in feb, as were all bushes, shocks & steering damper. Tyres all look good too

checked the nuts, bearings and all bushes, found front anti roll bar bush (split one) has moved about 5mm or been poorly fitted as i had polybushes put on it 4 months ago, gonna get it sorted tmw, all other bushes look ok though so hope its just this.

revving your engine wont prove if the mounts are gone, you need to have a proper look at them when weather permits. I checked mine last week by trying to move them with a huge bar and couldn't move them at all. Mines a diesel, dont no if it makes a difference
