if engine wont rev surley its engine related not clutch pack now if it was reving and not moving in reverse as mine done once then i would say clutch pack

my rangie been a right **** with gearbox but patience paid off running well again now carnt see sence in fixing everything then selling it. better the devil u know than buying 1 u dont

i got my box from emmotts of clone 250+ 50 postage joe really helpfull bloke but must admit if my box goes again hopefully it wont im going for recon i think lot more expensive but 12 mnths warrentty and all new parts in the box

300k orignal engine and gearbox is that auto or manual

had this problem connect battery unlock all doors wait 30 mins then turn key anti clockwise 4 times followed by eka code hope the helps it worked for me

i had this problem last week yes unplugg sounder box mine drove me crasy connect battery make sure all door bonnet boot are shut u now have to leave the car 30 minutes this is reset time after 30 minutes put your key in drives door lock turn anticlockwise then back to the centre position 4 time...

well auto box went on my range rover no forward gears got another box no reverse gear so took it bk now fitting 3rd gear box are these boxes normally good or is it how long before next box stuffs up ???? :confused:

it does sound like box out job but trying wot joe saying at emmotts as i purchased box from him and he seems very genuine helpfull bloke and joe says the box was a good 1 he sold me he is sending me an ecu to try next if that dosent work have to see wot he advises next .

well aint taking gearbox out again in this weather gunna try ecu 1st and live in hope in the mean time ill keep using freelander till weather improves

update selector adjusted correctly transfer box was working before being removed. phone joe at emmotts gave him ecu tranmission ecu number only to find out the ecu that was fitted to my car was 99-2001 model ecu so i descibed under the bonnet to joe he said looks like at some stage ov its life...

so if ecu was knackered wud this stop the car reversing working in forward gears no faults on dashboard but no high or low either

well story is gearbox lost drive in all forward gears so emmotts new gearbox after all the bad weather finally got it fitted new filter and oil aswell now no low box not even beeping or showing on dash board put it in reverse not moving drive seems ok ish have spoken to joe at emmots explained...

range rover p38 fitted new gearbox after a week ov cold and hard graft goes forward no reverse so looks like im putting me freelander td on road just hope it dont let me down

no transfer box working either gunna check fuses tomas av good look round then if that fails run me td freelander till summer

p38 td gearbox gave up 2 days before crimbo have brought replacement from emmots and torqoe convertor replaced both ov these put new atf fluid in plus a filter now after spending a week under the car freezin to death it will go forwards but no reverse has anybody got any ideas as its slowly but...

brought a 98 td freelander cheap as a spare car there a noise like a diesel rattle on full lock from passenger wheel wen on full lock any ideas ??? are these td versions good cars ????
