    land rover paint

acquaintance of mine swears by b&q paint with thinners and a bit of petrol in it....last one he did was a nice job, ordinary compressor, did it outside if I remember right

Dead Series III pick up... advice needed

I would have thought that once you have got it transported to your place you could find someone to get the clutch freed off for you (using the method above) one of mine had the same problem and sorted itself out absolutely fine. Took about 15 mins for mine but it had been standing 2 years. Make...

    diff ratios

you are correct, i didn't - wanted a quick answer, so thanks for that....seems they are the same then....if it isn't that I still need to work out why one is soooo much faster than the other. trouble with having more than one land rover is you spend more time making decision s on what to fix ...

    diff ratios

off the top of your heads...does anyone know the diff ratios of a standard series 3 and of a range rover (i'm guessing a 73 one). I have driven my 'new' diesel landy today and it feels pretty slow compared with my old one, top speed is certainly less - per sat nav -I just wondered if its the...

    don't you hate it when....

you get a 'new' land rover and the gears disappear 5 miles from home....after a while i got second, but it popped out on overrun, eventually limped home at 19mph...... symptoms: can't engage gears, neutral feels very notchy, like the selectors are out of line....clues?

    series or defender wanted

this one isn't for you then, will need some welding (by rear cross member and maybe some other bits) brakes and suspension recommissioning, a roof fitted, some door tops (the ones on it are ropey). It hasn't been on the road for 5 years, It may need other stuff! I will probably have my sherpa...

    series or defender wanted

Essex to chichester is a hike as well....shame really as I have a fixer upper here that would look nice in a river!

    wanted:overdrive selector

The Landy chassis is being welded at the moment, then the truck cab is coming off and hard top is going on, then I'm swapping the axles.....if I can get an overdrive selector like the one on the bay by the time I get through all that I will, if not, Slob I promise I'll make one...ok?

    wanted:overdrive selector

I should have said it snapped and is missing! I have an old gear stick I could make fit, but it seemed sensible to get the right one if I can.

    My First veg oil mile

Well not exactly...13 litres of diesel, 5 litres of veg oil. tescos finest at 81p alitre from tesco express. Filled up in their car park :) But I did the mile home and all is fine (probably hasn't mixed itself up much yet, but we will see) My other landy is on its way to being fixed up so I am...

    engine confusion???

emulsion in the filler area could just have built up, be condensation etc. I'd clean it out with trike or paraffin and see what happens after that.....There is nothing good or trivial about oil out of the exhaust....if its been standing long enough it may have drained into there over time and...
