Aye, I'll have to check them as well. As for the accelerator I never press it anyway. Got used to driving Fords that get confused if you press it when trying to start it. Never really understood why people do that? Just to add, there doesn't seem to be any kind of 'fight' in my lift pump...

Aye, I do all of that anyway. Everything off and clutch in, I've even been out again tonight to give it another attempt. Did the glow plugs four times in a row -(when doing this I only ever let the light go out and do it again, I've sat before waiting after the lights gone out for the click...

Our 300tdi is playing silly games when starting or should I say not starting :mad: It starts fine on normal days. But whenever it's cold as in the last few weeks it doesn't take much turning over to not start and drain the battery. The battery is a fairly new one (within 6 months)...

300tdi radiator lying around waiting for cash to fill it's place? Had a look at mine earlier and spotted 2 leaks, major rot and quite a lack of fins. :eek: No wonder it's been losing coolant lately :doh:

Ok then, under the dash (in a 300tdi) literally below the fusebox door thing and just to the left side is a plug type socket/joint thing. Nowt is plugged into it and I just wondered if something should be or even what it could be for?

Forgot to mention there's a bit of a funny smell inside the car too.

I've noticed a puddle in the drivers footwell recently and opened the bonnet today to see a sudden lack of coolant with no 'obvious' signs of leakage anywhere. Would I be right in assuming that the heater matrix has kicked the bucket? It's a 300tdi if it helps.

Surely if the rad was fubared then it would be overheating all the time?

You reckon the hoses are collapsing?

Noticed on the motorway that my disco will sit quite happily at 70mph but anything over that (even just 1mph over) sends the temp gauge up into the red region. Putting your foot down at 70 makes the temp gauge go up rather than any other needle :suspicious: For some strange reason, out of...

Hi, sorry for the delay. Thanks for the replies, I do have an EGR removal kit to fit, just not got round to it yet. On the subject of intercooler, been there done that. When I spotted my turbo hose had a split I took off all of the hoses just to check for any probs and cleaned the lot out...
