How 1 job turns into 5... The calipers could do with a clean for sure, and taking some off the edge of the disc seems like a perfectly feasible bush-mechanic approach.

Yeah will try getting some picks but the disc is no where near the pistons, I have no pads in at the moment because they won't fit in the gap. It's the outside circumference of the disc touching the edge of the caliper

It already had Vented disc 300bhp, those are the crusty ones I've taken off. Front vented, rusty as hell and 20mm thick.

I'll get some tonight and post up. Definitely has the spacer, was just trying to get a direct vented replacement but got me scratching my head. Alternatively I guess I can just go back to solid discs which are only 14mm and plenty of room for those.

Put my new Mintex vented front brake disc on on Saturday. It didn't occur to me to check how thick the vented discs were as they were listed against my model as a replacement, 2005 90 TD5. Turns out there was no clearance once the brake caliper was on because these Mintex vented discs are 24mm...
