Did you blank it off or fit a kit which is in effect a straight through pipe?

A common trick (seen on many BMW forums)is to insert a 1p between the EGR valve and the pipe which bolts to it which carries the gas . This blanks it off. Or buy a bypass kit off EBAY which replaces the EGR valve with a strait through tube

I was thinking of an EGR removal kit to remove any air intake restiction to see if that improved low down power. Will it make a difference though as the air has to pass through the inter cooler which seems quite restrictive anyway!

Try blanking the egr pipe and fitting an ITG filter. The filter is £32 and you can blank the pipe with a 1p.

Thanks for the replies. The play is when you rock the wheel rim at the quater past three position. The radial play is less than 10 mm. I have taken the covers off. The outer tube is rock steady so the play is in the sliding part.

I have tried all positions and still get the up and down play with the locking mech and some side to side. car drives ok but wondering about the MOT and is this play normal.

Check it is actually a DHSE as lots of sellers will say that to boost the price. Does it have both front seats electric? Should have 18 inch wheels fitted too.
