can the rear wiper be hot wired

Would it not just be a case of shorting a micro switch wires together? There must be a switch of some kind on the handle/door catch. The wires would need either shorting if the circuit is normally closed when the door is shut, or seperate them and insulate them if the circuit is normally open...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Took her down to the dealers to order the front ARB drop links and ARB bushes. Also ordered some cleaning bits and bobs ready for her first ever (most likely) proper detail.

    Scangauge E fits quite well.

    opinion needed ,please comment

The OEM Thermostat normally fails open, so your temperature gauge will not rise to the centre of the gauge as the water is constantly circulating through the radiator. You can completely ignore the OEM stat if it's failed open, and do the mod.

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

So the Diesel Rhino turn't up yesterday. I've started the triple dose tonight. Not expecting much until at least the first half of the tank has gone through, but I'll keep the thread updated.

Ease of fitment. You have to take the inlet manifold off to access the water pipe, but all told it wouldnt take more than 35 minutes. Changing the LR thermostat requires the drivers side wheel off. The actual thermostat is located behind the water pump.

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Thanks I enjoy getting my hands dirty, I get the feeling they will be dirty quite often. In other news, my MPG has gone up by 1.6 MPG. I'll try cleaning the injectors with some Diesel Rhino to improve the MPG further, however I've got the feeling I'll be changing the injectors...

Upgraded Brakes V's Car Insurance ?

You'll not need drilled/grooved discs on a Freelander (unless you plan on high speed driving?). They would be just for show. Get OEM discs, uprated pads and new brake fluid, job done. Cheap drilled/grooved discs should be avoided. The drilling/milling can weaken the disc if not done right...

Buy yourself a code reader (£20 cheapie will do). Although you might not have a fault code stored, it's a tool well worth having when living with tempremental cars.

    Miles to rank of Diesel

Double half it's length. Anyway, 400-450 is what I've seen so far. That's with mixed A/B roads on my daily commute (26miles each way). Very little town driving, but quite a few junctions to stop at.
