Hiya, any ideas roughly how many miles I should get out a rank of diesel in my td4? What's everyone else getting?

How long is a piece of string, heavy boot or traffic will give a different result to 60mph on empty roads.

Well it's just below 3/4 mark and so far got 199 miles on the trip.

My VCU is tight so I'm sure that's restricting my mpg but it has gone up slightly since fitting the K&N air filter & BMW cycle oil breather.
With a reconditioned VCU I'd expect to get around 450-475 mixed town/national speed limit roads.

435 is the most i have had td4 auto 1920000 on the clock
Maybe you need to remove a zero there

a lot of td4 owners will not use the k&n filter as they are oiled and it upsets the maf

I average 400 miles per tank, that's with a Synergy 2 and MASSIVE intercooler. At least 1 injector is playing up too which doesn't help - along with the stop/start journey to work.

Not sure if the Td4 ones are oiled.
K&N filters I've used in the past have mentioned about spraying some oil on them after washing them, the one that arrived for the The instructions that came with the Td4 filter only mentioned washing, allowing it to dry, then refitting.
Maybe K&N decided not to oil these filters for the sake of the MAF?

Anyway, 400-450 is what I've seen so far. That's with mixed A/B roads on my daily commute (26miles each way). Very little town driving, but quite a few junctions to stop at.

Depends where I drive it. Around London my auto does about 375 to the tank. On a long journey on motorways at 60mph and it will do well in excess of 550.
I only ever use the top 3/4, always fill up at a quarter or there abouts,,
Dont want the crap from the bottom of the tank getting flushed through..
Average fill up = 44.44 Litres
Average Cost = £66.21
Average PPL = 149.5
Average distance = 271.42 Miles
27.8 Mpg average for the year..
So if I was to run it as low as I could
360 miles would be about my limit..

Our Td4 auto is mainly used for local urban journeys into town and to the next village. My last fill up of 56 litres (12 gallons) I manage 364 miles which is about 30mpg. I'm down to just above quarter mark on the guage at 269 so far on this tank full, hopefully it will get to 350ish before I have to fill up again.
