200 tdi with drum rear brakes - looking for diagram

Hi, I am looking for a diagram of the rear hub assembly. I have ordered the bits I think I need to change the wheel bearing and seals, as well as brake shoes, but I would like to see a schematic before I start in case I have missed anything. Are there any lists on here or diagrams? I know...

    200 tdi timing belt

I bought my 90 last month, 103000 miles. I have no service history at all, so I dont know if the timing belt has ever been done. What is the interval for it on this engine? I suppose I will have to get it booked in to have it done. Is there any way of telling if it has ever been done...

    First experience of the rain

I dont have a sunroof, but I did fit a pretty heavy duty roofrack last weekend. I reckon I may have cracked a seal or 2 in the roof along the gulleyways. I will have to wait for a dry day and try to find the leak and seal it up. I might give that Tolleys stuff a go.

    First experience of the rain

in my 90 today. Interesting! Seems the headlining above the driver seat is acting as a puddle catcher, and it releases all over the driver when going down a hill. Think its condensation too actually, I will do away with the lining, its mouldy and rotten on the inside. Has anybody...

    Rear washer / wiper

Mine doesnt work very well, and I never use it anyway. If I remove it all, to tidy up the back door trim, and get rid of the wiper etc, will it fail the next MOT if its not present?

should I be looking at 2.5td or tdi?

I faced the same dilemma a few weeks ago. I knew nothing and was advised by 3 seperate sources to avoid the 2.5 TD at all costs. I have bought a 200 TDi K reg, cost me just over 3K. I have a growing list of things to do now I have it, all of which will cost a bit. So in short. Get as...

    Play in drive shafts

i have access to a 10 ton press, as well as a big vice and a variety of "big ammers" Can the balljoint be bought as a seperate item? Or must I change the whole frame? I think I am going to buy a polybush kit and do all of them this spring. Would the A frame be included in that...

    Play in drive shafts

thanks if it is spline wear, I suppose I can do nothing about it ? Short of changing the gearbox and both shafts ? I think if that is the case I will live with it and wait for it to fail, and deal with it then. What about this "A frame" thingy? Any advice on that?

    Play in drive shafts

I have a knocking noise when I drop the clutch quickly, I have learned to drive carefully and it is not there, I am guessing I have some play somewhere in the drivshafts. I got underneath today, all in neautral, handbrake off, and I would say I have about 1/16th of a turn of play in the shaft...

    Leak from back drum brake??

Hi all I have just noticed a drip from the bottom of the back driver side drum on my 90, it looks to me like oil as opposed to brake fluid. Not had the beast long so still learning, I know there is oil in the front CV joints, but is ther oil in the back hubs too? If not, assuming it...

    Welding safely

Hi, I am planning on picking up a mig welder in the spring to do some repairs to my defender. Mostly around the windscreen. I have done a bit of welding in the past, will have to brush up and have a practise, but have never welded on vehicles before. Will I have to drain and / or remove...

    No go !!!

I have that "clunk" when I release the clutch on my 1993 90 200tdi. What checks should I make to try to identify the cause of this? And what can I do to prevent major failure? I have got used to driving it carefully and the clunk is not evident if I am careful with the clutch, but if I...

    Defender 90/110 workshop manual.

I found this link, and it works, you have to burn it to CD as per the instructions. Trouble is I think it is only for 300 TDi? I have a 200 TDi 90. Is this the same manual, or is there a more appropriate one? The Green Oval - Downloads | Land Rover Data

    Bolt on roof rack

Just picked up a cracking stainless steel roofrack for my 90 for just £26 of Ebay, it was from a crew cab 130 and was bolted on permanently. I was planning to make some fixings to allow me to take it on and off, but on seeing it, I think I will leave it on all the time, so am leaning towards...

I am not going to hammer the guy, to be fair to him he has, so fat, done everything that he could. I have taken loads of pics, emailed them to him, and I feel pretty confident that he wants to sort it out for me. I appreciate all of your help on here, many thanks, I daresay I will be on...
