Hi all Out this morning and my 200 tdi (original defender engine) squealed and dropped a few bits behind me. Puilled over, steering very heavy, turns out the power steering pump has failed and in a major way. The pulley has sheared right off it, that is what I saw in my rear view mirror...

I had the same trouble, cured it by smearing silicon sealant along the outside roof channels, you cannot see it but it works a treat

thanks James, would you say its engine oil then? I guess my main concern is I can keep an eye on engine oil easily via the dipstick, but others are more likely to catch me out as not so easy to monitor.
