Hi all

Out this morning and my 200 tdi (original defender engine) squealed and dropped a few bits behind me.

Puilled over, steering very heavy, turns out the power steering pump has failed and in a major way.

The pulley has sheared right off it, that is what I saw in my rear view mirror then.

Belt gone too of course.

So I need to track down a replacement.

Looked on Ebay and there are loads of 300 tdi but not many 200 tdi, presumably they are different?

Does anybody have a spare on e kicking about they want to exchange for beer tokens?

Or any other suggestions as to where I can pick one up? Obviously I will need the pulley too.

Dumped the whole contents of the fluid all ove a layby.

What a nightmare.

Help please???

also one further question: Does anybody know if a Discovery 200 tdi pump is the same?
Thanks in anticipation

Johnny

A quick look on the likes of Rimmers. LR Series etc shows that there were two different pumps fitted to the Defender 200TDi engines so you will have to use your engine number to establish which pump you need before shelling out on a replacement (don't want to end up with the wrong one do you?). The pully is separate so you will have to get a price for that as will if you lost yours.
Plenty of places selling pumps (genuine, aftermarket, reconditioned etc) but you have to find the correct part number first and to do that I would speak to a parts supplier so you are 100% certain on getting the correct one.
I see you are in Bucks, if near High Wycombe then Dingcroft would be a good place to start.

Thanks, it is the NTC 9070 pump that I need, seems it is the most expensive one :-(

Don't suppose anybody has an old one kicking about?

I cant find any on ebay, cheapest at the mo seems to be a refurb at around £120 without the pulley.

Just what I need.
