    Overall Fuel Consumption!

To true that's why I still keep my VFR800 despite not being able to ride long distances due to a knackered shoulder - just makes me happy knowing its there if required :) And I love driving my Freelander but sometimes nick my wife's Fiesta because its cheaper to run and don't take so long to...

    nudge bar/A bar

I've just swapped the grey nudge bar for a black one on my 2005 TD4. It was only on for a few years and started to look tatty and sh*t. Pretty certain you couldn't fit one to a non facelift and TBH if I hadn't drilled the front bumper to fit wouldn't bother fitting a new one. Got the black one...

    Brake Service - Parts Deals/Tips?

I changed the drums and wheel cylinders on my 2005 TD4 last summer. Made the mistake of buying Britpart cylinders. Really poor quality caused me big problems bleeding out the system. Also had 2 out of the cylinder bolts rusted and seized. Replaced with stainless bolts.

    flushing the cooling system

Thanks for the answer SV I'll give it a try again. I have been bleeding out daily from the upper bleed screw wasn't aware of the other. Had the same last winter with my TD4 - took ages for the temp gauge to start moving. When its frosty here (just wind & rain right now) I can leave the car...

    flushing the cooling system

So what's the best method to bleed the air out of the cooling system? Use both bleed screws? Or the tube removal from the header tank as described above? Or a mixture of both? Just interested to know cheers

    Heater

My TD4 takes about 10 minutes of running before I can get the heater working well enough to clear the ice off the windscreen. It was pretty bad tonight drivers side window wouldn't lower frozen solid. Toying with the idea of getting a 12v heater just to clear the windscreen a bit quicker. Has...

    TD4 Flywheel DMF or Solid

I've heard the DMFs are fairly robust on the TD4s. In the time I've spent on this forum can't recall hearing of any totally failing (maybe I've just missed the threads). Unlike my old Mondeo mk3 TDCI (2004) these are known for destroying DMFS danger zone is just after 70k miles but can go...

    2003 td4 problem

    clutch probelms...

Good luck with it - like I said I'm interested because I have problems with my own clutch which I've been putting off fixing. Just a word of warning when I first got my TD4 I let a tyre/service station try to change a fuel filter for me - took 2 hours and beat the sh*t out of it with a 3lb...

    Anyone used Mr clutch

I've used Strood Mr Clutch for many years and always had good service. Get all my MOTs there and find them very honest and helpful. Had a recurring problem with an automatic gearbox some years back with a Mk2 Mondeo TDCi, It had eaten 2 gear boxes fitted by other garages. They did an...

    clutch probelms...

Master cylinder is a separate part on the bulkhead with the TD4. This is a separate part to the concentric slave. I'm guessing if it was the master he would have seen the leak so unfortunately as Diesel Do said it'll be inside the bell housing so you may as well change the clutch as well :(

Master cylinder is fairly easy to change. Recently changed mine - purchased an oem one from island4x4. Did the RAC guy investigate where the leak was?
