Brake Service - Parts Deals/Tips?

I've been looking to do the brakes on my 2003 TD4 for a while. I've no record of when they were last done, the front discs and pads are pretty worn and I already have some Pagid replacements courtesy of the last eurocarparts offer. I just need to order some replacement caliper retaining bolts at £13 each, I've been searching for some while and that seems to be the going rate

The car has done a lot of mileage recently, it's been parked up in the rain for 4 days and now I've found the car is stuck. I've not pushed it for fear of damaging something but it feels like the rear brakes are stuck on. I'm going to jack it up and have a closer look tomorrow. In any case I was looking to change the shoes and perhaps the drums too.

Does anyone know of any parts deals on at the moment? ECP have a sale running until midnight for Pagid shoes and drums but they're still pricey. There are some deals on eBay, unbranded parts from what I can see but I could get a whole refurb kit which I may well need. Any thoughts on Delphi as a brand?

Finally, any tips when looking at brakes? I've never worked with drums/shoes before so maybe a Haynes manual is a worthy investment?

I changed the drums and wheel cylinders on my 2005 TD4 last summer. Made the mistake of buying Britpart cylinders. Really poor quality caused me big problems bleeding out the system.
Also had 2 out of the cylinder bolts rusted and seized. Replaced with stainless bolts.

For safety related items I always buy new branded parts. That way I know or can find out if the brand is ok and judge if they've a competent brand.

rear brakes sticking are due to dust as it goes like concrete try reversing and they will come off with a bang , haynes manuel is ok but the best thing you can do when you get the drums of the back is to take a photo of each side ,there are about 4-5 springs in there and they have to go back into the right position . Just to note when you fdo the back drums ,behind the drum is a rubber gromet pull this out and with a torch you will see a little wheel, with teeth on it ,you need to release this shoes abit with this wheel and the drum should come off OK and i always try to use mintex shoes and pads and disks

I'll certainly be looking at some some branded parts. I'll whip the drums off later to see what state they're in, I suspect they may need replacing too. I can also then look at the springs, etc and see if a full refurb kit is the way to go.

I've tried reversing but they really are stuck on solid. I'll have a closer look when checking the drums later on.
