All terrain tyres - 225/55/17 - advice needed

I have Grabber UHP's on, Aok so far and quieter than the previous Synchrones. I think they should be ok for light off road use and good in snow I hope. Time will tell.

I,ve recently put 17" General Grabber UHP's on my TD4, seem ok so far but the real test will be in snow, as I have a 22 mile commute with very steep hills. they look like they should be ok, but only time will tell I suppose. £530.00 inc fitting and ballanced.

    TD4 Diesel EGR Bypass Valve

Hi chaps. I tried the disconnecting the pipe from the EGR valve and plugging it as per above post, and didn't notice any difference to performance, but when I turned the engine off, some valve of something made a long growling noise for a few seconds. How do you stop this, and what...

    Freelander Diesel Leak

Hi Rob. It sounds like it's coming from the fuel pump or filter which is in a small compartment above the plastic cover you mention. You need to jack up and block for safety, and remove the wheel. then there are two bolts to remove and the whole tray assembly drops down. It is quite awkward...

    WANTED: Pierburgh Maf

If your blowing black smoke, it's less likely to be a split hose and more likely to be a collapsing hose and maybe nothing to do with the maf, as black smoke usually means a lack of air.:)

    The 2wd fuel economy experiment!

I get about 34mpg on a brimmed tank, and that's on home made bio. Cheap as chips! Smells like em too. Haha!

    Simple Fuel filter change?

Update!!! Sorted. After all the aggro I had changing the fuel filter It wasn't that after all, but turned out to be a split turbo hose. DOH!!! Noticed an oily mess splattered in the engine compartment and traced it to a split on the underside of the hose. Runs like a bird now. :):):)

Do you use veggie oil in your TD4?

If bio-diesel is properly processed, there is no sodium or potassium hydroxide or methanol in the finished fuel, so no problem. And personally I wouldn't like to use raw veggy in any vehicle, but especially not a common rail. :)

    Simple Fuel filter change?

Hi Ian. No, managed to get it off ok, although it was quite corroded. Did yours have a strange looped clip down inside the plastic tube as well as the earthing pad? What's it's function, apart from making the new filter harder to get in?
