    Backlash in the drive line.

    Jack up each wheel in turn , and check for backlash in the half-shafts. The splines in the outer drive hubs wear quite considerably . You will see the wheel rocking back and forth before the driveshaft starts trying to turn.

    Hi all, Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between a RR Classic petrol rear axle case and a RR Classic diesel rear axle case , as they have different part no.'s. I would have thought the cases were the same , just the internals being different (ratio etc.)

    Gav, how did you know it was the stepper that was faulty ? I have removed mine and fitted a manual power valve in its place for now, but it can't work as economically as an electronic one surely , and my local lpg centre said it could be faulty sensors giving the stepper the wrong signals.

    Changed the relays and it sorta worked , as the relay chattered again, and the pump energised ! I went for a drive and the brakes seemed okay, but the red and abs lights didnt go out !
