How long did it take to do the steering box adjustment and was it easy? did you have to put it on ramps or axle jacks? any special tools or requirements? non mechanical person (me) will be doing the job if able.

Have you checked the fan belt for the power steering pump, if slack might not be pumping (goes with the moaning) enough fluid in the steering system. by the way mine does the same at low revs and the belt is a tad slack. so another job on the list.

I am having my bearings tightened on thursday as i have had the bushes on the panhard rod and radius arms done, steering damper replaced, so will let you know, other then that is could be the pre-load needs to be checked, the garage mine is going to says it will be a 4hr job to check, lol.

The steering damper is a 20 min job to replace, it makes hell of a difference on the steering, just make sure it is the right way round.

It could be the catch mechanism needs tightening as mine does this when the retaining screws have worked loose, even with loctite on them.

I will give mine a hose down and see what colour it is.
