    Morning All, Can anyone offer some tip's or tricks for cleaning the inlet manifold. Its full of black oily gue, from the EGR :mad:. Was planning on using some Mr Muscle or Flash oven cleaner and leaving it over night.......... Are there any no no's or must do's ? Any advice welcome, cheers :)

    No Sounds about right :), need aleast two cup's of tea and a fag before the tools come out and the need to consult the manual whilst on the throne :D Thanks for help guy's, your advice is confidence building. Will start tomo morning and let you know how I get on.

    Thanks Nickh75, it's more the P gasket that bothers me :confused:, Am i right in thinking I have to remove the alloy block that sits behind the water pump to get to the P gasket ?

    Sounds a good price to me, Nextdoor but one paid a lot more. £1500 or so. Did look nice and shinny though. (I know this wont last long with heat and Mud etc, etc) How much would you pay to have your head skimmed ????

    I don't think you can blame your self , if as you say you checked all fuild/temp levels before and during your ill fated trip. Have you considered having a compression test done, this should tell you if the head gasket has gone and as you fear your oil and water are mixing. Let us know how you...
