The issue with the gearbox is that increasing the engine torque chews it up. You should fit the stronger ZF24 box from the 4.6 if you really want to up the power. Datatek is going to do it soon so you should talk to him :)

When towing I found that upon reaching a hill in 4th it would lose speed, change down to 3rd, engage 3rd (still slowing down), conclude 3rd wasn't gonna cut it, select 2nd ROAR, realise its mistake and select 3rd... This happened repeatedly until I just pushed it into 3rd before reaching the hill :P

Do the Disco 3/4 boxes share this problem?

Yes they should.. With the lights on they should all glow the same pale fluorescent green colour. The bulbs are easily changed.. but accessed from the back of the unit

When it arrives be sure to do a marble test on the radiator to check it has a baffle, some seem not to :)

On average across all driving I used to get 24mpg on my DHSE, which equates to 11-12 l/100km. Consumption is probably a bit higher at higher speeds. Personally I prefer the mpg system as I think it's more useful to think how far you can get with the fuel you have, rather than how much fuel...

Also from the handbook, but for the diesel Engine oil - Td6 Use either a 5W/30, 5W/40, 5W/50 or 10W/40 oil, meeting specifications ACEA - A3/B3; and having a viscosity band recommended for the temperature range of your locality.
