Would anyone be able to assist me in obtaining the two correct cross members for my 1986 Classic 4 door. Parts numbers are MUC6306 and MRC8175. Suppliers say they have them or can get them but they are NOT the correct ones. Either they are bad copies or are missing the raised hollow support...

Just to add: Car was originally Green and the two front doors are from a TD5 with electric windows. Doors are in silver not grey. Out riggers have been repaired and are in red oxide primer. Chassis ends in 911623. I will also offer a reward for information about its location. The famous quote...

Done all that yesterday - in the snow. If I earth out the ignition light lead should the light go out? Can it be done with the engine running? Thanks

The new alternator was fitted after the wading episode. So I am working on the basis it is working ok.

Give me spanners not wires. Hi all, I am trying to sort out my son's 200 TDi alternator issue. The ignition light does not go out when the engine is running, it is a NEW alternator and produces the correct voltage out of the back of the unit but not at the battery. It is therefore not charging...

I have tried three (two old ones) modules in total. What do I do with the multi meter to test the module?

Thanks for the info. Changed Module and Rotor, not yet checked the wire from ignition switch to coil or engine earth. Doing that tomorrow.

Hi Thanks for the suggestion, new 2" lift springs and 4 shocks were fitted two years ago. When they were fitted it still sagged 10mm on the o/s/r. Recently fitted 4 standard springs, still the same sag???
