....and this morning it won't start...

Richard it will be fine - just needs a bit of TLC. As said earlier, get it re-sync'd (could always go to dealer as an option) and the EAS software & cable, and once these teething troubles are sorted you'll never look back

    Seat Belts

dopey they are semi sealed - I had a similar prob with my passenger front one, took off the plastic panel and all looked as it should. Removed the leccy plug and took out the unit - lota of stickers on vqarious bits saying do not open/remove. Bought a set of good used belts from a 1997 P38...

    P38 or not ???

couldn't agree more. I went the jap imprt route for years (2 pajero's & 2 surf's then a VX landcruiser). All superr reliable but a bit soulless. Let my heart win in the end and, after 2 years of looking, found my P38 - never looked back. as said earlier, get a good one, look after it and...

    Does anyone offroad/greenlane their P38 or L322?

not had mine long but I have taken it to Frickley off road. Nothing too extreme as it's standard and still on pirelli scorpions - got it well muddy tho'. Compared to my previous truck (toyota landcruiser; 4.2TD with 3 diff locks, suspension lift and BF mudders) I am well impressed with...

    P38 puddle lights

Harry could try P38 spares - if they haven't got new will probably be able to get you a decent set off a breaker. I've found them good on price as well p38spares.co.uk

Towing electrics, where to fit the socket on a detacable towbar?

Rob if yours is a P38 then the sockets (either 2x7 pin or 1x 13 pin) fit nicely in the rear valance below the rear bumper, each side of the towbar mounting. Hope this helps On mine i removed the 2x7 pin ones, re-wired in a single 13 pin one (new van) and used the space created for the...

    P38 Grill

Mike recently did mine (it was faded almost to a light grey) in Plastikote black. Didn't come out black but a really nice very dark grey that matched perfectly the colour of the bumper. I did the grill and the plastic bits below the headlights and, as long as you clean them properly before to...

    Electric window switches console lights

polsta yep, everything should light up. The 4 window switches on the centre console, each of the rear switches on the rear doors, the 2 sunroof switches & the mirror switch. Bulbs are easty to change, but as they are small, can be a little fiddly. Has been previously covered both here and...

Blend Motors - How difficult really??

Saint not had to do it on mine but using the info on RAVE as well as on Rangerovers.net looks like it's a bit of a bugger but can be done without having to rip out the dash. Looks like a score of between 5 & 7 to me.

    quick question

go for the petrol - ideally one that already been properly converted to gas or haggle down the price as "no one wants big thirsty 4x4's any more" and budget approx £1700 to get a decent sequential conversion done

viewd a p38 should i buy it ? and what to look for....

stop double-guessing and GET IT BOUGHT!!!!! If it's as you describe and everything about it & the seller feels "right" get it done. Took me 2 years to find mine and like you, I bought private and everything just felt right. Apart from a washer level sensor and a blown bulb on the HEVAC not...

    Bumper care

I had the same problem with the grile on my P38. Tried back to black, peanut butter (both smooth & crunchy) and even boot polish. Best thing I found was Plasti-cote paint. It's cheap enough from motor factors and doesn't even need a primer. I got the dark grey but it comes in a range of...

Change of Plan !!! LPG ???? Any Ideas

my turn my intention was always to get a 4.6 v8 not converted and then have it converted myself. I wanted to compare it to economy agains my previous truck (Toyota Landcruiser 4.2 diesel) as well as assume that as it wouldn't be converted, it would be cheaper. Took me 2 years to find the...
