    Buying a used Landy

theft of defenders seems to be rife in south yorks at present. Not suggesting for a minite that this chap is in anyway involved but if you are looking make sure all paperwork is in order and all the numebrs match (engine, chasis etc.) good luck

    LPG on a P38 - better on a 4.0 or 4.6?

jelleman maths is fine but costs a bit different up north. Unleaded is 131.9/ltr and I get LPG at 61.9/ltr still happy tho' and the V8 burble & power knowing I'm getting what equates to diesel "economy" is well worth it

    LPG on a P38 - better on a 4.0 or 4.6?

Mike mine is a late 4.6 thor currently on nearly 90K miles. I made sure that before I had mine converted (by a indie LR garage) that the engine was sweet, used almost no oil and had no coolant loss or overheating. I had a multi injector BRC system fitted to mine, it wasn't cheap but as I...

Right Gents - Who's going to offer advice to a young laydee!?

got to agree with most of the replies on here - £400 is a real bargain even if the EAS is knackered it can be fixed for not too much and even tho' you are going to be using it as a bit of a hack you will love all the other range rover goodies. Get it home, plug in the EAS software and see...

    Wheel spacers

hi provided the spacers are decent onesthat cover the entire face of the hub as well as the rear face of the alloy and are fitted properly then as long as your wheel bearings are in good shape you shouldn't have any problems

    Vulcan viewing tour

Ian I'm also local to Fnningley got got to see the iconic plane when it arrived and on a visitor day, really humbling and the guys who are looking after it are so passionate (without being complete anoraks) about keeping her in the air. Happy to be involved - just a thought but wouldn't it...

    jap spec radio

Dave the blaubunkt might not operate all the amps of the HK sysrtem and you will probably also lose the steering wheel controls for the stereo - how did you get on??

Anyone got a part number for RR Classic heated front washer jets?

blimey!!! talk about short & to the point - what happened to the normal banter???

    Rangeover Rear End Conversion

Kev from all the stuff on the suppliers website it seems that the rears are easier than the fronts. ONly problem I can see is that although the front still looks very range rover, as the rear lights that go in the pods are from a defender and, if you are also fitting the bonded rear panel...

Weird behaviour of my P38 4.6 HSE

yep, defo sounds like battery is low on charge and we all know how P38's hate low voltage. Don't rush out & get a new battery yet until you have checked out the alternator fault as it's likely that the alternator fault is the reason why the battery is low - might be a cheapie solution

    which stereo

chris with the HK system the head unit will be either Alpine or Clarion even tho the CD changer in the boot is Clarion. Best thing would be to ring one of the P38 breakers (or try e-bay) and pick up a head unit from a breaker, just make sure you get teh 4 digit code with it as well

    glove box light

saint I think I see your problem - when removing my glovebox light I found that using a hammer/large persuader/lever/breaker bar/length of handy scaffold pole was a bit over the top as you have to be careful that the end of the bar doesn't scratch the headliner

    Newbie after some advice

some really good advice there, especially around geting a good one (a bad one can be turned round but needs a fatter wallet). My best advice would be ditch the diesel (too slow) & get a big V8 with LPG. Without LPG already fitted you can get one reallly cheap but factor in £1500 - £2000 for a...

    glove box light

matt the switch is part of the light assembly in the top of the glovebox houosing - sounds like the contacts for thh switch are dirty/corroded. If you remove it and clean it up it should be fine. To get it out you need a small stubby flat blade screwdriver, prise the bulb holder/switch...

    jap spec radio

dave if yours has the HK head unit (although jap spec) it comes out if you slide 2 thin pieces of metal (like mini hacksaw blades) into the horizontal slots on the upper edge of the uniot. It then simply pulls out so you can disconect the multiplugs You should then be able to replace it...

p38 stereo how to remove or get code

richi Two things here 1. Is the stereo code you have the right one for the unit - has the stereo come from a previous car. If so you will probably have to get teh unit de-coded by an auto electrician. 2. To get it out will depend on which sound system you have fitted (Clarion or...
