anyone know how to remove the centre console on the early freelander, im trying to remove the part that surrounds the automatic gear lever and where the HDC switch is, ive removed the two screws either side that are in line the the lever, the whole thing doesnt budge, any ideas?

i dunno, theres one in my car not sure how it got there, must be from the 60s. anyway, i gave up, scraped the booster was only 6 pound, and just bought a new aerial from motor factors, as i had the bee sting, hense the booster, now working perfectly.

mine was knocking when i went and viewed the car the day before i bought it, and later that day it went through MOT and passed so they didnt even pick it up. The only things i can think of doing is the wishbone, suspension shock or engine mounts. can only do one at a time untill its fixed.

Hi jdunkers, that's good too know, I would like to look into the wishbone, exept according to haynes manuel its a pig of a job, including using a press thing to get it off. Did u do yours yourself?

Could be flooded engine, get someone to try and it iver while you feed carb cleaner in air feed, happens to me and got it started, have to rev the gel out of it to clear the smoke.

well i had an old bee sting from an old car i kept, and i like the silver/chrome effect. Halfords sell long silver whip aerials, might give that a try. so the only earth point is on the underside of where its mounted?

the starter motor positive cable is thicker than the other postive cable and negative to earth cable that goes to the battery terminals. is it possible to change the cable to a slimmer one as i cant find any battery terminals that will support a cable that thick. or is it not possible due to...

sorry, im getting warm air through footwells, cold air through main vents, pollen filter is removed. system bled, the temp gauge takes all day just to get to halfway, i can drive 30 miles on the motorway and the gauge will still read cold. sorry for changing the subject on this thread

i have the same problem, however i do get warm air coming though footwells and for the windscreen demister but not through the main vents, and even thats luke warm. was told thermostat could be problem.

Can you just replace the rubber bushes in these? Ive got a knocking sound and so far have done the easy fixes (Droplinks, Track rod end ball joints) Read on posts could be engine mount bushes (this is n/s were talking about btw). Top suspension mounts, wishbones?? please enlighten me boffins.
