SRS Error Message from All Comms

Good point - car doesn't get very much use and suppose the battery could be getting drained from standing still. Battery is only a year old though. You're right about the stealers too, they wanted £1500 for a transfer box when all it turned out to be was a sticky switch on the gear shift. I...

SRS Error Message from All Comms

Yay, I'm on my way.....Will Monpoly money do? - It's all I've got at the moment. @Datatek - guess it's the ECU on it's way out then, ho-hum  - Or even a bad connection would be kinda difficult to fix, bet there's hundreds of the little blighters buried deep in the interior of me car.

SRS Error Message from All Comms

ermmmm....... yeah, I kinda figured that it might be battery and unit 1 related but not sure how. As nobody other than me has been near the car (and I've no idea where unit 1 is) - kinda odd that it would suddenly reconnect itself after a reset, stranger things have happened though I suppose...

Did i pay too much or not?

Well, depending on the mileage - sounds like yer might have had a alright deal there mate. £7500 for a car that cost over £65,000 new just less than 10 years ago sounds ok to me take care of her and she just might take of you. but she'll be high maintainence from now on :)

    The Moon - WTF?

I found a calculator at Moonrise, Moonset and Moonphase for U.K. – England – London – coming days that helps explain the timings but not the reason. It says that today the moon will rise at 11.24 and then set at 03:10 tomorrow - that's about 16 hours of moonshine, hic. If you...

    The Moon - WTF?

yeah, that all says it's going to be closer than it is normally but nothing about it being in the sky for longer than normal. I'll dig a little deeper and see what I can find.

    The Moon - WTF?

I live in the middle of nowhere so the Moon's cycles are something I get to see vividly and get to use from time to time so I get to know about its cycles, timings and what not. However, this cycle I've seen something very odd - I first saw the Moon today at around 11am - nothing wrong with...

    The Dreaded Transmission Failsafe

There are sensors that are part of the gearstick mechanism that can cause "Trans Failsafe Prog" to appear if they are faulty or have mucky connections - does it on mine occasionally. First time it happened the Main Stealers said it was transfer motor and would cost £1500 to fix. Now, the fix...

    Range Rover newbie - advice

Gotta admit that owning a RR is quite special. Each version/model have their own features and foibles and that makes them quite special. If you can find a good one it'll be OK for the vast majority of the time but when it goes wrong it will either be expensive, frustrating or both to fix -...

Best Landy To Cope With Salt Water

Guess it's gotta be a defender then. Jeez, they expensive ain't they - can't get anything under 200,000 miles for less then £2000 at the moment. I'll keep looking though - was hoping to spend around £500 but will go to £1000 as it will be useful for doing towing an stuff round here in the...

Best Landy To Cope With Salt Water

Been thinking about buying a cheap Landy for launching Jetskis and Boats in the sea this summer. Which one do you reckon won't fall apart after a few months? Obviously the doors will fall of a Freelander so it a choice of old P38, Disco or VERY cheap and nasty defender.

Heh, don't be too harsh on her.......... When I demist my car it switches on the fecking air con on too - Never really been able to figure that out - does it in the wifeys Mini as well. So, she might well be telling you the truth - she never did touch the aircon, it came on by itself. Fer...
