ermmmm....... yeah, I kinda figured that it might be battery and unit 1 related but not sure how.

As nobody other than me has been near the car (and I've no idea where unit 1 is) - kinda odd that it would suddenly reconnect itself after a reset, stranger things have happened though I suppose.

Also, I wondered why Stratstone quoted me £2000 to fix it?????

Yay, I'm on my way.....Will Monpoly money do? - It's all I've got at the moment.

@Datatek - guess it's the ECU on it's way out then, ho-hum  - Or even a bad connection would be kinda difficult to fix, bet there's hundreds of the little blighters buried deep in the interior of me car.

Don't know on the L322, but on the P38 SRS is a stand alone system and it's quite easy to check out the wiring as long as you take care not to set an airbag off:eek:
Could still be the vehicle battery is dodgy.

test the battery voltage , these l322 s need a battery in tip top charge or will thow up all kinds of faults . [ bit like the p38 ]
one guy i know had gearbox fault message and poor gear change the stealers wanted £4000 for a new gearbox when they tested it , but we fitted a new battery and its been fine ever since

Good point - car doesn't get very much use and suppose the battery could be getting drained from standing still. Battery is only a year old though.

You're right about the stealers too, they wanted £1500 for a transfer box when all it turned out to be was a sticky switch on the gear shift. I take my car to a local specialist non main dealer these days.
