Mine was the same on my Disco2, so bought one from a breaker, when I put it in, it worked but no light, replaced the bulb and presto one working clock, There was no seperate wire for the light it was in the four wire plug, the bulb holder picks up its power from the circuit board on the clock...

    interesting issue with disco 2

Yep...that's one of my real concerns....its 12 years old, so I guess its going to happen at some point, I can replace most stuff in advance of a failure, air bags, water pumps, oil pump bolt, but there are always going to be bits that are just too dammed expensive/labour intensive, to fix...

    interesting issue with disco 2

:pwell its an idea...but a bit drastic...never heard of any vehicle coming back after a dip in the sea.....seems no matter what they all just dissolve away... had one of those before, and to be fair you just cant keep up with the corrosion or electrical faults. that's why insurance companies...

    help advice for sickly disco

I would have to agree with all....lol....Charlesy is correct, If you check the red plug and find oil, cleaning it is a must, not to would risk damage to the ECU, and if the fault disappears you have found your fault, It is the most common shorting route, so you can choose to clean the plug every...

2002 td5 serengeti with high miles?

And a 150k Disco 2 is a spring chicken. Buy with confidence that it will go wrong but it probably won't be a nightmare. This is the same for any land river regardless of age or mileage. I would certainly agree with this, but add a proviso that its been looked after and had all the required...

    interesting issue with disco 2

All Terraines or Mud terraines ?

As most that seem to have replied to this, I run mud's full time, as said road holding not so good, and vibration if you push it above 60, noisy all the time. but know I shouldn't get stuck, and as said, maybe above 60 you need to drive something else, cant comment about fuel costs as I never...

    Disco central locking issue

Discool is most probably right again...hope its a stuck door switch, includes bonnet and rear load door, the horn will sound it you try to set the alarm with the vehicle unsecured, so an open door switch will give those symptoms as for the MFU its expensive, but on the plus side I just had one...

    interesting issue with disco 2

:):)It all started a few months ago now, I have noticed that when I go to my 2000 ES disco it seems to start when required, even when cold. I have tried to see if I can get it to be like all the others, and to that end have given it a Veg Oil mix, still it appears to love a bit of veg in its...
