Ha currently having this problem with mine! had a disco 300tdi with a similar problem in the summer, was the injector leak off pipes letting air in when the engine was off. Worth checking them and it's a cheap fix, need to do them on the 200 when its not as cold

mine was stiff at first too, I found if your rolling forward in neutral at about 5mph you can get it in easier, keep changing from high to low and it should get easier
