    Osculati boat hatches

Great advise thanks. Mine is access to a cabin heater that's being mounted in an ali box that's getting fitted behind the rear wheel high up in the void.

    Osculati boat hatches

Anyone familiar with these type of plastic hatches? Plan to use one for side rear arch access to my cabin heater. Not sure what kind of plastic it is, wondered if anyone knew as would like to paint it, so need to chose the correct primer. Cheers all.

    Insulation & Ply lining

I’m thinking of using some rubber crumb matt thats usually used under carpet to deaden sound. There’s several versions around, mid range has a cork and rubber mix, heavy duty version is just rubber, it’s heavy so won’t be using it everywhere. My camper storage is going to be standard 9mm ply at...

    TD5 oil pressure switch.

had a mare trying to connect the two metal parts of the plug so bit the bullet and cut the cable off. had the two metal parts on a bench, tweezers, jewellers screw driver, loads of light, still a ball ache. Pushed, levered and pulled, finally got the thing back together, reconnected the cables...

    TD5 oil pressure switch.

That's the offending little chap, tiny poxy little pain in the arse, very hard to get the other section clipped in as its a pain to work on it in the engine bay. its about 8mm long, best hope I don't drop the thing!

    TD5 oil pressure switch.

So I now know the bit inside the plug is meant to be there. Still don't know how to push the cable and clip in the other bit.

    TD5 oil pressure switch.

Must have knocked the cable out of it at some point. Unclear as to how it should be reconnected into the plug body. Looking at the plug its unclear if the metal that you can see should be there, looks the same as the cable end im trying to put back, so im wondering if its from a previous event...

    Fuel tank breather?

well I spent the day changing the tranferbox oil and then the gear box oil as I hadn't done either since I owned the 110! Bad I know. Then thought id tackle the broken breather hose. having had the fuel pump sorted a year or two back I thought i'd have a look at the plate in the rear tub...

Chinese diesel heater in defender camper?

In middle of sorting mine. Having an Ali box made up to mount in the rear wheel arch. Need to move the tank breather and cut a door in just behind the rear wheel. Thinking of an auxiliary fuel tank. Also made the fuel fed pipe that needs to be fitted in the fuel filler neck. Pics to follow.

Where has she been all her Life?!

Must be ex plumbers as the roof rack has a 22mm push fit end cap over the chopped rack, well looks that way anyway! Nice camper conversion coming up?

    Fuel tank breather?

Whilst tinkering today part 2, noticed a bit of duct tape on a hose, assume this is the fuel tank breather but im not sure. Is it easy to replace, just the rubber hose or a whole assembly of bits. its mounted in the back of the rear wheel arch in a 2004 TD5 passenger side.

    Todays tinkering!

Bonnet up to change the oil and filters today, saw this. No idea what it is, or how it should fixed. pushed it back in and it seemed to stay put. Its at the back of the engine (2004 TD5) on the heater box side.
