Whilst tinkering today part 2, noticed a bit of duct tape on a hose, assume this is the fuel tank breather but im not sure. Is it easy to replace, just the rubber hose or a whole assembly of bits. its mounted in the back of the rear wheel arch in a 2004 TD5 passenger side.

I think it is the fuel tank breather, but I think it has a 1 way valve in it too. I’m not certain though.

well I spent the day changing the tranferbox oil and then the gear box oil as I hadn't done either since I owned the 110! Bad I know.

Then thought id tackle the broken breather hose.

having had the fuel pump sorted a year or two back I thought i'd have a look at the plate in the rear tub floor. Holy fukc, what did they use to stick it down, had to use a claw hammer to lever it up and off. Couldnt see properly the breather hose connection from the cut out so decided to drill a new hole. The steel plate was too deformed to re-use so cut a new checker plate panel to cover the hole and the new hole to access the breather connection, riveted it back in place with a tiny amount of sealer to ease any future access. See pic's, have added some dims if any else needs to access the breather pipe connection.IMG_32mm hole to breather connection.JPG IMG_dim flush with bumper.JPG IMG_dim from the side.JPG IMG_brweather new hose connection.JPG IMG_fuel pump floor cut out.JPG IMG_glued and rivoted plate.JPG IMG_perished breather hose.JPG
