    td5 isnt liking the cold

Went to start her up this morning, and juddered into life, idled roughly for 5 secs then died  Tried turning over for about 20secs and then she fired up, with a cloud of smoke. Left it idling for a few minutes while i threw some things in the back, enough time i thought for her to...

    Max wadding depth?

If its the odd splash in water you should be fine. Although remember, if you've got any oil leaking out anywhere, even a little dribble, remember water can get in as well then. It'll be fine leaving it for a few weeks. What you can do, if its been left standing for a little while (overnight)...

    Max wadding depth?

If you've had it up to top of wheel rim depth quite a bit recently, i'd consider chaning your axle oils. As Im guessing you haven't extended the axle breathers? You wont notice anything now, but any water in there will stop the oil doing what it should and you'll end up with worn out bits in...

Land Rover Defender - First car?

I would say series3 / 90 is your best options. You may want to buy something below your budget so you get a chance to do some work yourself and ge it the way you want. Insurance wise, definately speak to NFU Mutual, they seem to be the best with young drivers, and understand that a landy is...

    TD5 tuning, intercooler etc...

for the de-cat pipe the best quality for value is to simply buy the front pipe from the early td5's as they didnt hav a cat.

Td5, think something's not quite right

OK, I've noticed something else that might help sort this, i did quite a long drive the other day, starting out on country roads where it was running at its usual not great self then there was a short section of dual carriageway where I got a bit carried away and kept my foot down. after...

Im in Farnham. Go down to Salisbury Plain quite a bit with some people, just over an hours drive, but well worth a day out. Slindon, Sussex is not a long way away for a pay and play site. Theres a ton of greenlanes around Shere, and around me in Farnham. Also head over to the devil's...

Td5, think something's not quite right

Thanks guys for the advice. Shifty, can't spot anything abnormal with the intercooler pipes. Next time I'm popping down to my local indie, I'll have a word with them about the MAF. Could they confirm it's that using a nanocom pooter thingy?

Td5, think something's not quite right

Hi Shifty, how are you these days? No remap. A few thousand miles ago it had new air filter, fuel filter and new oil and filters. (all genuine ones) The oil level is a little over the mark, but that's simply cos I over-filled by a little, it hasnt been going up or anything like that...

Td5, think something's not quite right

Can't really put my finger on it, and it's hard to describe... It just feels like it's not running as smoothly sometimes, i wouldn't go as far as saying it's missing, just seems a little harsher and not as willing to rev. Yet on other occasions I'm left astonished at how smoothly and briskly...

LR TD5 Engine - Dilemma on whether to go for one

My Td5's been brilliant :D:D:D Lots of power, nice and smooth, and quiet(ish) All servicing can be done DIYable, you only need a pooter for fault codes and things, but I've had two Teedee 5's in a little over two years, and never had to hook them up to a pooter. Don't listen to all the...
