Ok thanks. You say it's quite big job; any idea how much labour a garage would quote? I'll checkout diesel jones.

    Injector pump fault

Yes it's 130k. I'm sure the timing chain has never been done. Would you recommend me getting the cam, pump and crank sprocket done at the same time? The local garage quoted me £750 + 2.5 hr labour for the fip. Was looking at secondhand ones for £170. But wanted to be sure that it was a pump...

    Injector pump fault

I've had a intermittent problem with my p38 dse where there seems to be no power for a few seconds then is better. This happens maybe once a week. Anyway I took it to my local I independent garage and he plugged in his diagnostics. And cleared a injector pump fault. After driving some more...

    P38 Gearbox whine?

Just an update. Play in uj sorted. But the whine problem seem to be the gearbox or transfer. Hard to tell which even with a stethoscope while the car is running jacked up over a pit. So thinking of getting a secondhand 4hp24. Just gotta do some searching to find exactly what I need to get to do...

Would that also explain it hanging on to first gear for so long?

    P38 Gearbox whine?

There doesn't seem to be any movement in the rear prop at the diff. The front has a tiny bit but I could be feeling some play in the uj.

    P38 Gearbox whine?

Hello all, Once again I call upon the expertise in this forum. The auto box in my 1999 p38 2.5 dse started to whine. I recently did an oil change (about 1300 miles ago). But on the way to work the other day the gearbox or transfer box started whining. Usually while decelerating and sometime...

    Air bubble in fuel line

Hi all. I've got a problem. Loss if power and die. I noticed that there are air bubbles in a clear section of line going into and out of the fuel filter. Does this suggest a problem with the pump or could it be fuel lines. Cheers Ole

    Ipod connection

I've just been reading about balanced and unbalanced audio signals here. And after looking on some DJ sites I've found this product which seems to convert unbalanced signals into balanced and works of 12VDC. then it should be a simple task to make up some cables to connect it to the...
