The damper is part of the pulley, if gone you will need to change the unit. When I did my cambelt I removed the starter and jammed the ring gear with a big screwdriver and tightened the bolt as much as I could without giving myself a hernia, it's held like that for the last 40,000 miles. Lee

Remove the backplate, 4 bolts and you will be able to remove the seal. Lee
