Thanks all.....I changed the oil in the diffs a couple a month ago, ( first time since I had the car....) surprisingly there was no bits of metal on the plug. APart from the age & mileage of the car, It is probably wear and tear, but I probably did not help by not greasing the UJ's, serviced...

    Gearbox/Transfer Box - Confused or Mis-lead

Thanks Wammers, I just went back to my original post regarding changing the gearbox oil, and it was you who did state that it was the Torque converter, So i have obviously mis-read (or at the time probably mis-understood) the difference.... How often should the transfer box oil be replaced...

    Gearbox/Transfer Box - Confused or Mis-lead

Would someone please Confirm/Clarify......I have now changed the Gearbox oil and filter several times on my P38, I was led to believe that you could not change ALL of the oil in the gerbox as several litres were left in the transfer box and the suggestion was to run the car for a couple of...

    slight engine oil leak

Seriously though, if it is not obvious and somewhere behind the steering pump, it will probably either be from the front of the rocker cover or the valley gasket, neither of which you can really do much about without a lot of hassle......

    slight engine oil leak

Thats not an oil leak, it the patented 'P38 ACS (Anti Corrosion System). It slowly drips oil down your engine and then the viscous fan blows it all along the underside of your car covering everything with oil, so that it does not rust.....clever eh ;-)
