Hi, My 2001 4.6 engine has deveoped a samll leak down the front left hand side of the block, so far only small spots on the drive are noticeable. Where is it likley to be coming from - the cylinder head? Difficult to see where else without taking steering pump etc. off. Any advice?

Thats not an oil leak, it the patented 'P38 ACS (Anti Corrosion System). It slowly drips oil down your engine and then the viscous fan blows it all along the underside of your car covering everything with oil, so that it does not rust.....clever eh ;-)

Seriously though, if it is not obvious and somewhere behind the steering pump, it will probably either be from the front of the rocker cover or the valley gasket, neither of which you can really do much about without a lot of hassle......

Thanks for the replies guys - I suspect the valley gasket because what I can see of the rocker gasket looks fairly clean. Guess I'll leave it and bless the designers forethought to build in such good preservation tricks.
