    Where do these go? (pics)

I dont know if the original vehicle had an immobiliser. I really cant see where it goes. I have one connector going to the solenoid. So I'll just leave that other one floating and see what happens. If it starts ok I'll tape it off. if it doesnt I guess I'll have to get an expert to look at it...

    Where do these go? (pics)

Thanks for that. If it's the inlet, where would it connect too then? The smaller one with the hose goes to the turbo I know that. And It'll be fine once I connect a snorkal to it though wont it if I want to go in water? And I dont suppose you Have you any ideas where that plastic dome with the...

    Where do these go? (pics)

Thanks for reply, but just to clarify, dont I need to put that dome connector in then? if not, what do I do with the connector it connects too? I do have another wire going to it, do I just leave it with the one wire connected? and leave that other wire not connected? And until I get around to...

    Where do these go? (pics)

I have asked this before without any replies, so thought I'd put pics this time so people can see what I'm talking about. I was told this little white plastic dome thing with the terminal on top goes in where I have it in the picture, is this right? I've not seen any others in that place before...

    Fuel solenoid

Right, thank you very much! And do you happen to know where that little white plastic dome thing with a spring under it, and with a ternminal on top goes? it was on the floor when my engine arrived, I'm assuming it fell off where that hole is in the middle of that big sqare plate ontop of the...

    Fuel solenoid

Can anyone advise me with this? I had a cut off engine harness when I got my donor 200tdi engine, but not sure where to connect the fuel solenoid wire too? I have the connections (the black connector going to the solenoid, and I also have a white plastic dome with a spade terminal on top, and a...

    Fuel solenoid

As some know, i've taken out a petrol V8 and put in a 200tdi in my defender. I've just about got all the wiring sussed out now, (I think) the only thing in my cut off engine loom that I dont know where it goes too on the vehicle loom is the wire from the fuel solenoid. (the one that goes to the...

    Fitting new engine to gearbox

Yes, it's got to be easier! Although you will prob still need some help doing that. It's guiding it in while trying to line everything up in position thats the problem. It's even easier when your doing a ground up resto, then you can put the engine/box on the chassis, and build the bodywork up...

    Oil Cooler Pipes.

Oh, almost forgot. I take it the part numbers you gave me are for td oil cooler pipes? If so, do you know if they sell the rad fittings that mate up with them? The problem I've got is that I'm not taking out a td diesel engine, I'm taking out a petrol V8. So obviously I cant whip off the td...

    Fitting new engine to gearbox

Its in at last!! Main prob was as someone said it HAS to go in perfectly aligned all around. if its slightly up at the bottom or top then forget it. Even then It took me and a friend with a big lump of 2x2 as a lever to get the bitch all the way home. My mate has put in many engines, and he said...

    Fitting new engine to gearbox

I did roughly check that. It does all look the same. I guess only time will tell. Jeez what a hassle!:( Just to add, the bush should be the same anyway shouldnt it? as it's a standard LT77 box, and a 200tdi going into it which as we know does fit. Only differance is it's a disco 200tdi, and not...

    Fitting new engine to gearbox

Yeah, Maybe I should take out the bottom 3 and put them back after. Just hope I can get the bloody things out again. On some of the studs I've taken out in the past, I've put 3 lock nuts on them, but still the nuts turned rather than the stud. I'll see if I can also try and get hold of some M10...

    Fitting new engine to gearbox

The gearbox is a standard LT77 and hasnt had any mods, as the V8 was fittied to it via an adapter plate, so it should match up. Maybe I should prop the gearbox up more then, and square it up a bit more. I have tried turning the crank at the same time, but it means I can get even less push on it...

    Fitting new engine to gearbox

I'm doing the 200tdi conversion by myself. I have managed to get out the V8, and am now trying to fit the 200tdi to the gearbox. I have got it to the stage where the studs are just touching the gearbox, infact one of them is only just in the stud hole by about 1mm. I'm pushing and shoving like...
