Fuel solenoid

Can anyone advise me with this? I had a cut off engine harness when I got my donor 200tdi engine, but not sure where to connect the fuel solenoid wire too? I have the connections (the black connector going to the solenoid, and I also have a white plastic dome with a spade terminal on top, and a little spring underneath thats fallen off). for a start does that push fit into the round hole ontop of the square plate with 4 screws holding it on?

Then where do I connect the white/brown wire that comes off the connections to the fuel solenoid? Can I run it straight to the battery via an inline fuse? or has it got to go through the ignition or something first? I've almost finished the conversion now, and it's this silly problem stopping me from finishing it.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this?? I've sussed out all the other wires now I think, but cant figure where this one is meant to go from the cut off tail on the engine, too the engine harness. Thats why I thought it would be easier if I can run it straight to the battery, but not sure if its that simple. Please help if you can!

For the solenoid you just need a live that comes on n goes off with the ignition for it to work, that's all I did just tap into one of those

Right, thank you very much! And do you happen to know where that little white plastic dome thing with a spring under it, and with a ternminal on top goes? it was on the floor when my engine arrived, I'm assuming it fell off where that hole is in the middle of that big sqare plate ontop of the fuel solenoid unit that has 4 screws holding it on? it does fit in there with help from a screwdriver.
