    OK, lets say it is the exhaust manifold. I understand the turbo is attached to this, so a replacement is going to cost me around £400? I will try and get a video up tomorrow of the noise.

    Are we talking inlet or exhaust? Could it just be a gasket? I'll have another check tomorrow to see if it is blowing out anywhere.

    Good point Jon, if you really want to simplify it, I'd have a 300Tdi just for the better position of reverse gear on the R380 gearbox.

    After driving both a 200 and 300, I would say the 300Tdi is slightly more refined than the 200Tdi. But they are both great engines and get very good MPG, especially if the 300Tdi has had the EGR removed.

    SW to van

    I'm also 18 and have a 300Tdi van. Did you tell the insurance about the windows as a modification. I am also interested in doing this as I can't see a bleeding thing when pulling out of some junctions.
