    Belt Tensioners

Hi All, has anyone got a torque figure for the two belt tensioners on the 4.4 engine? I've got the ones for the adjusting bolts ( 22 &18) but nowhere can I find a figure for the bolts that actually secure the tensioners to the block ( torx bolt on Electrical belt and 13mm bolt on air...

    EAS (again!)

Hi All, does anyone think it might be the little o rings on the shuttle valves? Only ask as a leak on the HP side must be audible when its up to pressure ( what is it, about 10 bar - 150 psi ?), and theres a split decision on wheather to lube these o rings or not to assist with seating? The kit...

Brakes again! I swear this problem is unique!

What age is your car, the TC is different for pre and post 98/99 cars. I agree that diagnostics are better than just trying to fathom it out - I went all round the car trying to find our ABS fault - bought a Hawkeye and it told me which one wasn't playing within a couple of minutes. I don't know...

    EAS (again!)

Sorry , just about to give you 2 things to check: 1) the o ring in the pump - make sure it isnt holding the valve off, when I did mine the Pump had poor output and this was due to the o ring not seating due to old ' glue' in the groove. 2) Check the purple wire in the multi connector ( thin one...

    Oil Filter washer on 4.4

Hi All, the w/shop manual says to replace the washer(?) when renewing the filter. All the filters I have just supply a big o ring for the body. Does it mean the ribbed one on the spindle? This would seem to be the only seal that could possible make a difference as it seals the top of the filter...

Poor MPG 4.4 on lpg and petrol

Thought I'd a 2p worth: I get around 14-15 mpg on petrol and work out 250- 260miles on 80 litres of gas. This is mainly trips of 16-22 miles or so, but remains fairly consistant. Car pulls like a train on gas or Petrol and since reading the posts on here I now only put in 97 octane go juice. Had...

    CD changer - casette stuck

Mine does this on occasion , I just wiggle the whole cassette mech ( which is suspended within the case) and most of the time it frees off and away you go - this by the way is the same problem I've had with the P38 unit, however the aftermarket sony in our old car worked for years. While on the...

refuses to idle on LPG and returns to petrol

Kurgen: From the limited information I have on these things they all seem to have a diagnostic mode written in the software, the fitters originally had to turn mine off to allow me to manually turn the gas over until the new temp sensor arrived - it kept wanting to try to get the lpg running. If...

refuses to idle on LPG and returns to petrol

This may or may not help.... My L322 usd to drop out of LPG mode for what seemed no apparent reason. Went back to the fitters - who plugged it in and diagnosed a faulty temperature sender, fitted an new one - no more dropping out. Hope this is useful.

Hawkeye V5 / Faultmate - how to get more out of them

Hi all, I've had a Hawkeye V5 for about a year now and though useful, I feel I should/ could be doing more with it. For instance - just ran the Motronic live data on the car..... and didn't understand most of what it was telling me! I've asked Bearmach if they have a more indepth guide to it...

    Blend motors

www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/blendmotor. Try this, I used the info to sort mine out about a year ago. As for if they're the same, - I've no doubt someone with more knowledge than me will give you the correct info - but to be honest they look the same to me and I only needed one to sort the...

    New Rad delivered....

Saint, I'm in the same boat with the rad on my L322. Having done the job on my P38, the WSM was specific about making up the coolant with demineralised water. Do you know if the L322 is as fussy? Can't see anything in RAVE, but maybe I missed it? Thanks

    Rear Wiper

Aquiesce, for what its worth i've had the same problem with my P38, the rear wiper was in my case seized solid, turned out that the spindle had seized in the casing and with a liberal spray of penetrating fluid and a gentle working - it freed off and works to this day. Also on my l322, the wash...
