Hey guys, got a loud knocking noise coming from rear axle while rolling (in gear or out of gear). I had a look at the UJ and it looks fine to me, and had a wiggle of the wheels so I don't think it's the bearings. Also had a look at the diff oil level and that's full as well. I can feel a bump...

Go for it. I was hesitant to drive to Le Mans in my old 1993 disco, especially as she'd developed a nasty knocking from the rear end... But she made it. The prospect of a breakdown just made the trip more interesting :D But get breakdown cover

Cheers, Good try but that didn't work... As soon as the ignition is switched on the alarm goes off, which I assume nullifies the entire process, as it's not worked. This is getting ridiculous, it always happens at the worst possible time :mad:

Hey guys, I've done a quick search, but am in a real hurry so will post this here as well just in case... My disco key fob (oval type, single button, 1993 model) has stopped unlocking the doors. I replaced the battery and now it flashes once but does not unlock the doors so I think it needs...

If it's bouncing up and down then I'd say it's the shockies. If it wobbled more than usual it's the shocks that are at fault, not the springs, as all extensive wobbling could possibly mean is springs that are too springy. It has to be the shocks if there is that much wobbling (hope that makes...

Shock Absorber - YouTube That's a brand new standard shock being pulled out and pushed back in. It was quite an effort to pull out, so if it's only a little resistance I'd suspect they need replacing

did you get a whole distributor or just the cap? Is it definitely sparking? If there are sparks but no fire I'd suspect the timing's out

I would have thought weak springs would make it sit lower, yes. But before I changed mine out I didn't think it was sitting lower either :lol: But yeah, could be your shockies
