    Speedo cable - which end.

Looking at the past MOT certificates that came with my landy they show the same mileage for about 5 years . If it had been a requirement then it would (should) have been picked up.

    Replacing Inner wing

Inner wing flopping about a bit, it's rusted through at the top where it seems to be bolted on the the wing top. Is replacing it just a bolt off bolt on replacement or do I need a welder  or more pop rivets:D:D

    Fan belt slipping problem

Went through a bit of water the other day in my Series, nothing serious about up to the floor pan. Coming out the other side the charging light came on. Went off after a minute, presumably when it dried out. Looks like the fan belt slipped when it got wet. The belt is tight and don't want to...

    Heater valve cable

Problem solved :):) A mate came up with a "new" (he bought it 10 years ago and never used it) Series 11A choke cable which fits beautifully even though it is about half a mil smaller. When replacing it I noticed that the oil breather pipe was broken, wondered where all the oi was coming froml...

    Heater valve cable

Cheers Foss. A mate has just come up with a choke cable from a series which he thinks may fit, its about the same diameter. We shall see in the morning:rolleyes:

    Heater valve cable

Yes it does. Looks to be the easiest way to just replace the inner. That way there should be only two screws/clamps to undo - one on the valve on top of the block and one on the control lever.

    Heater valve cable

Dont know about making one. Think its a bit thinner than the clutch cable looks to be about 1.5mm.

    AT/Mud Tyres

At the moment I have Insa Turbo Special Track tyres on the rear and AT on the front. I do a lot of estate work off road and the Insas are good. Now "winter" (the Met Office say we have a 50% chance of a mild winter:rolleyes::rolleyes:) is coming I would like to put a set of Insas on the front...

    Painting Steering Wheel

Cheers Big Dave. I didn't really want to go down the route of a glove but perhaps it's the best way.You are dead right, s*** all over new strides last week finally convinced me I have to do something.

    Painting Steering Wheel

My steering wheel needs painting. It leaves a lot of black s*** on my hands if it has not been used for a week or so. What paint should I use? Is it a "new" wheel?

    Swedish Landrover Clubs/Owners

Thinking about taking my 1977 Series 3 to Sweden next year instead of a boring estate car. Normally cover about 3000 miles so its odds on I will need to repair something . If anyone knows of any Series owners in Sweden, particularly north of Stockholm could they let me know please...

    Overland Scandinavia

I spend a lot of time in northern Sweden in the summer so cannot comment on winter too much suffice it to say that from my chums up there it can be very wet and sometimes snowy -an overnight fall of 1 metre is quite normal. Most, if not all cars have a heater point as most shops/hotels and car...

    Hand Brake drum.

Thanks a lot for the comments. I have enough trouble gutting fish and pheasants in the kitchen without boiling brake shoes though :D:D If the shoes are in bad nick do normal road brake replacement shoes fit?

    Hand Brake drum.

Just about to dismantle the prop shaft to try to resolve a leak from the back of the transfer box. Might have oil on the handbrake drum which may mean new shoes. Are the brake shoes on the hand brake the same as those on the wheels or is it another trip to Paddock ? :(:(

Adding a hatch to the seat box tool locker...

My Series 3 was fitted with mini Metro seats when I bought it. Great if you were 5' with an odd shaped back! The tool box locker has been "modified" by removing the front panel. Having replaced the seats with proper ones I just pop rivetted a piece of chequerplate over th hole. No problems with...
