I have had this same problem for a while now but only when its hot outside, the central locking goes mad when I`m driving locking & unlocking and then the drivers door does not lock with the fob. In the winter or when the weathers not been too great its fine.

Its likely that it will need some adjustment which unfortunately will need the door card removed this way you will get a better view on whats happening.

Having bother with the in-laws disco after changing all filters, blocking the egr and fitting a new lift pump its still slow. There is no power until the turbo kicks in it even revs up slow, I drove another 300tdi that had a bad engine rattle and it was much quicker and revved up freely.

On doing the timing belt on a 300 tdi the timing tool LRT-12-044 is to be used but tool LRT-12-085 is to br used if EDC, what is EDC? also the timing kit I have does not say what is what so which of these 2 tools has the spring inside it?

Go on ebay for the timing tools this will lock the cam and flywheel about £26 I didnt have this at the time so it was eyeballed by removing no1 injector and other crap but better to do it right but then like geekfreek said check it over first.
