It says in the discription for the large and the small that they can cause vibration if fitted on diesel engines. Does this apply to petrol aswell or is there no difference to the orignal ones ?

No problem mate. Id take the prop off and see if it still knocking. Take a look at hippo's thread replacing vcu bearing its a complete guide how to take the prop and vcu off. I had never took mine off before but its really easy. Use some axle stands to take the weight tho cous its quite heavy.

I wound just give the AA a call and ask the question alteast you know were you stand with it then if its not covered i think they will tow you to a garage.

From what iv read on this fourm and from you tube vidios it sounds like your ird is nakerd. If you go on you tube and search for freelander ird or something there is a vidio on there of one thats gone, suppose you could see if it has the same noise as yours. Failing that remove the vcu and see...

It a k series 51 plate mate. That makes sence hippo, even when it warm up tho it keeps reving up and down from 700-800 rpm i can feel it through the car is that normal aswell ?

Hiya, my freelander rpm needle keeps jumping around at idle lately. When its cold on a morning it idles at 1100 rpm then once i get to work its about 800rpm and today it was jumping between 700 and 800 rpm. Whats going on ? Is this normal ? Chris

I checked the tyres today and the rear ones are the same make kendrik 215/65 16 the driver side is a good year wrangler 215/65 16 but the passenger side is different its a universal or something and the size is different as well it's 215/60 16 so there's like 5 mm difference on that one. Is it...

Its a 51 plate and it has 117000 on the clock. No mention of a vcu change in the paper work, i did ask for a refund but he said they dont give refunds on second hand cars and i should expect a few problems with a car of that age lol thats not what he said when he was selling it to me.
