Replaced the gauge with a 2nd hand one today and now working perfectly ... that's how I like my electrics on an old Landy :)

Rock sliders are basically the sill replacement without the bar that sticks out. No, you can't really stand on them safely as only your toe caps would be on them!

Had some on my old 90 and fitted some to my 110 today ... I found Paddocks to be the best price for the 110 ones but not sure on the 90's.

You need tree sliders then ... basically rock sliders with the curved bar that sticks out about three inches ... like this:

Fitted the new tree sliders on the 110 CSW ... removing the 20 year old sills was the worst part ... angle grinder with cutting disc proved very useful. Also pressure washed the chassis in the hope that it may dry out while I'm working away ready for a good schutz Waxoyl session next weekend...

Gave the crossmember a good coat of Hammerite before I give the chassis a good Waxoyling on Sunday :rolleyes:

Thanks SH ... it's a little tatty bodywork wise with rusty cappings and oxidised doors but the chassis is solid ... unfortunately it needs Waxoyling so ... here I go again :rolleyes:

Two wires on the sender SH ... with or without lamp. One sends voltage to the sender, one brings it back and then it gets earthed at the gauge ... I think ;)

I don't need to as I zero the clock when the light comes on and I know I've got about 1/4 tank from there. Not worried about running out of doozil I just wanted to fix the gauge too as it should be pretty simple! :rolleyes:

I just insured my new 200Tdi 110 CSW which officially has 12 seats. I've always used Lancaster but even they insure 7 seats max! My mate has one too and he insures his as a 12 seater but he says that adrian Flux and the NFU are the only ones that will do it. BTW my insurance is £141 fully comp :p

Mine's a 'fender' ... it confooses the Mrs who thinks I'm goin' for a drive in my Strat! :D

The gauge returns to empty when the ignition is off so it's certainly not stuck. Just wondering how the warning light works really because if it's the same wire from the sender it should mean that the wiring is ok to the dash ... I would assume? :confused:

Sorted the permanent live feed out on the new stereo after it lost all its memory after I fitted the bugger!

Finally got to start work on the new 110 CSW today ... new Safari snorkel fitted, middle seat removed and cubby box fitted, sunroof sealed, four seized steps removed, new stereo fitted ... only shed loads more to do now :)
