Rock Sliders

Recommendations needed for some rock sliders please. For a 1991 Defender 90

I need some that dont stick out very far and you can use as a step

I was going to get some folding steps but my first laning trip showed that this would have been a disaster. Apparently I would have ripped them off.

They cant stick out far as my drive is very tight, I have to fold the mirrors in.

Need some asap as I might have to use the Landy for work and I cant get in it in a skirt

Well I can but its most undignified

You need tree sliders then ... basically rock sliders with the curved bar that sticks out about three inches ... like this:

Yep tree sliders like in my 90 album

I use em as steps to get in otherwise i'd have to carry round a soap box

Thank you, I will have to measure how much room I have, I didn't realise they stuck out as much as that.

Does anyone have a pic of the rock sliders and can you stand on them at all

Had some on my old 90 and fitted some to my 110 today ... I found Paddocks to be the best price for the 110 ones but not sure on the 90's.

Might be worth having a word with 300tdistu, he makes them up, alongside bumpers and winch bumpers and things, and I'm sure he'd make 'em to a specific size if you needed.

Rock sliders are basically the sill replacement without the bar that sticks out. No, you can't really stand on them safely as only your toe caps would be on them!

Saw a landy once that the guy had fitted a stirrup to

He used an old bit of seat belt and bolted each end to the the sill

LOL got plenty of those lying around. Wouldn't want to hear the comments from the guys at work though

With tree sliders they are unlikely to stick out more than the wheel arches
