Hi have a chance of a 3 door disco cheap. Its not much use to me but wondered is the chassis the same as a 5 door so i can get the engine and running gear overhauled and build a good 5 door disco? Any help and advice would be great cheers

About two months ago the passanger rear door wouldnt open from the outside but opens fine from inside. Now the other back door (drivers side) is the same, both open fine from inside but not the outside? Bit of a nightmare as we are expecting a baby in a few weeks could prove difficult. Any ideas...

I dont mean its stiff to drive. just when the hub was off and i was setting it with the spring balance. 1ts to be about 1.5kg but after i put the gaiters on it was stiffer to move. I put them on and its feels fine on the car just wondered if it was ok. Maybe jus tthe rubber needs time to brake...

Ok one swivel seal was leaking and the other swivel bearings were on the way out so i decided to just overhaul both. I also got those britpart gaiters to cover the balls and protect them. Here’s the thing i set the swivels up (using a good few shims to get it right) but when you put the gaiters...

Ok so doing my swivel ball and bearings. All went well apart from the annoying lower pins/bolts on the lower swivel the torx ones, needles to say they were tight and i got them out but so badly chewed up they cannot be reused. I cant seem to find them anywhere which i find strange as you can get...

im worried if it was to come off at speed and damage teh transfre box, axel etc. Surly removing it has no implications! not that i can see, apart from going up a steep off road hill which i should be ok for for the next few days.

The other day my 96 disco 300tdi wouldn't start, it cranked but not start, finally got it started on 3rd - 4th attempt. Then today driving along it just cut out i pulled over and again it wouldn't start. Took a few more attemts again and strated on maybe 5th attemps. It drives fine power wise so...

Under the old disco today changing the track rod and rear trailing bushes and i noticed some clean gear oil under the gearbox just after the bell housing. There where only a couple of drops but the signs are there. How easy is it to replace gaskets etc any help would be great cheers

i welded it all up same as in your phots with the tank in, i put some tin foil a few layers thick around to stop stray sparks!
