I'd go for hot rather than boiling. Used boiling water to get the "L" plates of my dad's Rover SD1 when I passed my test 20 something yers ago. It bleached the paint! Oooops :o

OK, been under this morning and the handbrake cable and the lever that goes into the drum are both free. The handbrake is still stuck on but not quite as much?!? I think it might be the pistons sticking in the expander thingy. Looks like I'll just have to slacken the adjuster off and fix it...
