300tdi, found the leak, how to fix?

Apart from the sunroofs, water finds it's way into the drivers footwell seats and carpets out and I find where it's coming from. It comes up through the plug that covers the body mount so I'll replace the plug and it also comes in through the seam thats hidden by the kick panel. It's not a big...

    Hi :)

Do a search for 'EGR blank', 'fuel pump tweak' and 'de-cat', these may help your sluggish Disco. I noticed a difference when I did the EGR ages ago, just got around to the Fuel pump tweak and it made a MASSIVE difference to the pre-turbo power and I have a de-cat pipe that I need to fit

    Jacking up a lifted vehicle

I have a 3 tonne jack and two sets of axle stands and for most jobs like removing wheels or doing bearings this is alright. I would just jack up from the axle, get the axle stand underneath and then if needed do the other side of the axle. But what if you want to do something like changing...

    my discovery bed!

Cool, I did similar in my Disco 1 (although it didn't look as good as yours). But mine was split in to 3 comparments, the front was full width for camping chairs and bags and general stuff for packing when camping and the rear section was split in to two, left for stove and cooking gear and the...

    Sluggish disco.........not any more!

I turned it 1 1/2 turns in total. Before I started I marked it across the lock nut, adjuster and the side of the case so I knew where it started from I then I turned it one full turn, which went well and then upped it to a turn and a half and still all good and no excessive smoke. So will...

    P38 Jack - advice please

I've got a Disco 300tdi and used a Halfords 2 tonne jack for ages and it worked fine but as I was under the vehicle and the little weedy jack arm would bend a little it didn't fill me with confidence so in the end I went to Machine Mart and bought a 3 tonne trolloey jack: Clarke CTJ3000G - 3...

    Sluggish disco.........not any more!

WOW, Thank you. I cannot believe I have had the Disco for exactly 3 years and 1 week and only just done this. All I did was adjust the screw on top for the pre-boost and it's so much easier for normal driving, I can cruise at 30 in fourth without the car juddering, hell, I can cruise at 30...

Insa Turbo Ranger or Insa Turbo Traction Track?

I've had the Traction Track on the Disco for about 30k if not more and still lot's of tread. I went from normal road tyres to these, they are quite noisy, I lost 50 miles a tank, the handling and braking on road has suffered because of them but they are worth it. Have helped out many road...

Any else cocked up removing rear seats? Snapped bolts

Wasn't sure about just drilling new holes, I thought there may be some kind of strengthening where the original bolts were. Thanks for the idea

Any else cocked up removing rear seats? Snapped bolts

I took the rear seats out of the Disco a couple years ago and only two of the bolts came out, the others snapped. Now I'd like to put the seats back in. I flattened what was left of the stud and punched the centre and managed to drill through two of them (drilling slowly with a small bit at...

Disco 300tdi What are these cables and mounting points meant for?

Hi all As my Disco interior is in a constant state of undress, I thought I would strip the inside of all but the dash and the door cards to check for rust as I've got nowt else to do. I'd like to add that my 1998 Disco does not have electric seats or sunroofs (but it does have a leaky sunroof...

    Bumper options disco 1

Mines passed the last two MOT's with no valence or end caps on the front bumper. I would ask the MOT tester in advance if I were you, he should tell you if he'd pass it or not, that's what I did when it was due for it's first MOT with me. I've removed all the rear seats and he said he wouldn't...

    disco front seat

Not sure if that'll work on a '94 one. What you said is the same as my '98 Disco but I think pre '96 ones are different. The seat belt mounts are for sure, they are attached at the base of the b pillar for the seat belt and the cubby box for the receiver. I don't know about the actual seat bolts.
