Freelander 2 Roof lining

Unfortunately the foam fill between the fabric and hardboard disintegrates at about 15 years of age, allowing the fabric to flop down.
The only cure is to re-trim the hardboard with new headlining material.

While I presumed the only way to cure is to retrim, I bought this FL2 on Monday that came with a rather creative alternative. Not the best photo (it's night) and it looks like I need to clean a pizza stain, but it is interesting. Google upholstery button. Whatever, it holds well.

Oh dear, that looks pretty sad.

The lining in my F1 hangs down probably as far as that would if the buttons were taken away. However, the sunroof holds it up in the front so there's no problem. If there are passengers in the back there's no problem either, cos their heads hold it up :D
