Hey everyone, it’s me again.

Two years ago, I went to an auto electrician to have my car alarm deactivated because I was having constant issues with it. The problem was that even when I pressed the button on the key to turn off the alarm and unlock the doors, the alarm would still go off. Same thing happened when I opened the hood – the alarm would start sounding. The only thing I couldn’t open without triggering it was the trunk.

I remember changing the battery in the key, and after that, it became harder to turn off that red blinking light on the dashboard.

Has anyone experienced a similar or the same issue?

I have a feeling the problem was with one of the micro switches, but I’d really like to hear your thoughts or if anyone has dealt with something like this before.

Thanks!

Car model: Freelander 1999., 2.0 DI, 72kW, 3-door

The clip that hold the battery in the fob can break away from the PCB when you change the battery.

Its happened to mine twice.

Can result in a random connection of the battery, so sometimes will work, others not.

Need to get the clip soldered back on.... by someone with very good eye sight and a steady hand.
