Ex Coast Guard 110

Hello,
I am looking at buying an ex coast guard 110 van, its a 1987 model that I believe is from swansea area. Does anyone know what modifications (if any) that the coast guard would have done to their vehicles?
Also if anyone has any information/ pictures / history about the specific car (D reg plate ending PRH) then I would love to hear about it!

As a former HM Coastguard [ 28 years service ] I drove a lot of different Coastguard vehicles but not a 110. My station had swb series three and then a 90 before moving on to pickup and then crewcab trucks of other makes.
The main mods would be the same for most if used as rescue vehicles of blue light bar and two tone horns [ may well be holes in roof for fittings ] and in the load space fittings for racking to hold the rescue gear. Dash may have mods for radio equipment.
Do check chassis for rust, Coastguard trucks often end up splashing about in salty water although it was a rule they were washed down after. Ours also had a waxoil treatment each year back then. Don't think they bother today.

That's interesting, thanks for the reply. I am hoping that this one has been well cared for underneath, the salt water is a major concern for me.

Do they not strip out the blues and twos and radio equipment before being sold on?

Yes, the exposure to salt water is a big worry. If you're not sure of the 110's corrosion points, then get someone who does to have a look at it for you.
