canvas tilt

i have bought a canvas tilt for my 88 inch 2a. second hand...it fits fine width wise. round the doors ect but seems to be to short in length?
is it possibly an 86 inch series 1 or is it made wrong?
any help apreciated.

Hi.
I had the same problem with a new 109 tilt from Exmore. I phoned them and they advised me to pull the end straps as tight as passible. I did this over a few weeks and kept it wet. Sorted the problem and now fits perfect.

Do you know what make it is ? If it is Exmoor Trim then it could easily have been made wrong . The only way you could find out if it were meant for an 86” is to put it on an 86”. If it wasn’t put on properly when it was new and was allowed to shrink when it got wet then that might be the reason for not fitting properly .

hi chris. ok ta. i will try that im not sure that a series 1 tilt will even fit a s2

I think you're right, a series one tilt is slightly wider

Series 1 canvass have much taller sides than S2 &3. In any case 86" and 88" Series 1 bodies are exactly the same length as each other, the only difference is the position of the front axle..

The series 1 rear tubs are a lot lower than Series 2 and 3 hence the much wider door top panel below the glass and on rear door these pics are 86" mine and a mates both long gone now.
